California Hunter Safety Course Students

CALIFORNIA HUNTER SAFETY COURSE

The State of California requires hunter education for individuals who have never held a California hunting license, who do not posses a hunter education certificate, or have not been issued a hunting license from another state or province within the last two years. 

 

The Long Beach Rod and Gun Club offers the traditional hunter education course format which requires a minimum of ten hours classroom lecture, homework and a final exam.

After taking this course you will be familiar with

Firearm safety & handling 

Sportsmanship & ethics

Wildlife management & conservation

Archery & black powder

Wildlife identification & game care

Basic first-aid & survival 

Once a student has successfully completed the course, they will receive a certificate of completion recognized by the State of California. ​

This course allows the student to interact with the instructors so feel free to ask questions. Our certified volunteer instructors are dedicated to keeping hunting safe, ethical, fun, and available to all Californians.
